Ingredients

Our rule of thumb is no allergens, and the only exception is justified and flagged up. We use the minimum number of excipients, which are always listed in the ‘other ingredients’ section of our nutritional information. However, those excipients are entirely natural!

However, many food allergies actually concern very common products such as eggs, milk, shellfish, nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, cashews...), etc. That is why we systematically mention their presence in our supplements.

Of course not! There is absolutely no risk of addiction to any of our products since they all are made exclusively of natural and unprocessed ingredients, without any add-ons.

Unlike excipients found in processed foods, those used in dietary supplements are essential to:

• Facilitate the administration of the active ingredient. We add an excipient when the dose of active substance is small, which often requires another excipient to bind the two ingredients together. Sometimes, the active ingredient must be released only when it reaches its destination. Probiotics, for example, contain living micro-organisms that must resist the acidity of the stomach to reach the intestines alive.
• Give a form (capsule, gel, drops, liquid...) suited to the most relevant administration mode.
• Improve the manufacturing process during which there may be some problems. Powders may have difficulty flowing in the matrices for instance, that is why we use flow agents such as stearic acid or rice flour.
• Improve the acceptability of the supplement. Sometimes, we use excipients because it is necessary to hide a taste and facilitate absorption, especially for children. Other excipients are used to produce liquid or effervescent forms that are easier to ingest. However, that does not mean our supplements contain flavoring, coloring, or preservatives!
• Ensure preservation or maximize bioavailability. Active ingredients are often fragile and can need antioxidant excipients or antimicrobial agents. In other cases, excipients help the active substance to be better absorbed by the body.

All of our products are HACCP certified, a trademark and management system that controls and analyzes the biological, chemical, and physical hazards from the handling, manufacturing, distribution, and consumption of our products.

The entirety of our products manufactured in US laboratories are GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified, which ensures the safety and quality of our products. Compliance is based on common sense sanitary processes and processing requirements.

The majority of our products are manufactured in US or in European FDA (Food and Drug Administration), registered laboratories, which means they are guaranteed to be safe and properly labeled.

99.5% of our products are certified to be made with gluten-free processes and ingredients and 98.75% are guaranteed to be made with GMO-free processes and ingredients.

All our products are cruelty-free and hence do not involve any animal testing. 99.5% of them contain no preservatives and are dairy free, while most of them are also vegan friendly, and contain no soy or coloring.

SuperSmart’s formulas are for the most part elaborated in FDA registered laboratories, either in the United States or in Europe, the leaders in the food supplements market.

Our formulas are designed in such a way that all of our products work in the best possible manner on the greatest number of people. The researchers who work on our supplements can spend months, or even years developing the perfect formula.

The majority of SuperSmart’s supplements, whenever it is possible, is made from organic materials. We will always favor organic materials over synthetic ones when we have the opportunity to do it.

Yet, organic materials sometimes contain impurities that are not necessarily supported by everyone and can sometimes be unhealthy. That is why some of our supplements are manufactured chemically and identically to their natural equivalent, to be purer.

Most of our caps are made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), recognized as safe by the FDA and the European Union for food use. It is a compound of plant origin (plant cellulose), whose transformation does not involve any chemical additive or animal product.
